The agency is responsible for the funding and co-ordination of 38 institutions and other services for alcohol and drug addicts. The institutions are partly owned by the community, partly by private foundations and religious or secular organisations.
The agency's organisational features are: The agency's budget for 2011 amounts to 439 million Norwegian kroner (NOK), equivalent to approximately 56 million euro. In addition, the local social welfare offices contribute to the expenses when their clients are staying at our institutions.
